Stripe Pattern from Ooh-La-La

Designed by Jo Moulton, this collection of fine material features a delicate color palette featuring light blue, faded red, café cream and rustic brown, along with several others. Several of the textile patterns from Ooh-La-La contain vintage stamp markings, handwritten text and other signifying features which convey delicacy and softness. Printed alongside these features on comfortable 100% cotton cloth are other designs which help convey Parisian culture: upright 3-speed bicycles, antique folding cameras and floral arrangements you might find in a quaint roadside shop!

Wandering Through a Secret Garden

"Repeating Stripe" from Secret Garden
While the autumn months are beautiful in their own way, the vibrant lushness of spring and summer still holds sway over many. As the mornings become cool, leaves begin to drop and days shorten, you'll find that you have more time to spend indoors in your favorite knitting chair or at your crafting table. Though shades of orange, red, yellow and brown will prevail outdoors, you can keep a fresh bounty of flowers in your fabric stash by stocking up on Wilmington's latest collection: Secret Garden.

Secret Garden is a collection that embodies the refreshing simplicity of springtime. The collection, designed by Graphic 45, takes plenty of inspiration of the novel by the same name. Written by Frances Hodgson Burnett in 1911, it is a fantastical tale of youth and innocence. Mary, the book's central character, unlocks a magical world while exploring the grounds surrounding her Uncle's house. The small girl that appears throughout this collection can be viewed as Mary, and the colorful whimsy found in each print is her newly discovered world...made real!

"Packed Cards" from Secret Garden
Secret Garden features a diverse color palette which is very pastel-oriented. Soft blues, yellows, pinks, and greens abound, making this collection very easy on the eyes: perfect for a quilting project, interior decor, handbags/totes, or even a small line of apparel items. Throughout the collection, old-time script, vintage labels and stamps, and a beautifully delicate floral prints appear.

"Posy Patch" from Secret Garden
In addition to the more detailed prints of the collection that feature Mary and the vintage stationary, Secret Garden provides plenty of complementary prints. These feature solely floral patterns that can be used alongside fabrics outside of the collection, or on their own. No matter what you have in mind for Secret Garden, we're sure that it will delight and enchant!

"Roses" from Secret Garden
Secret Garden will be available online and in stores in mid- to late August! Be sure to stay up to date on featured fabric, online deals and more by following us on Facebook and Pinterest! Also, we're relatively new to the Instagram world--find us there as well (@beverlyfabrics).

French Bull x Windham: Raj and Ziggy On the Horizon!

The past few collections we've featured have been relatively subtle in terms of color palette and overall design. Raj and Ziggy, two new collections designed by French Bull for Windham Fabrics, are here to shake things up a bit! Summer's still shining bright, and both of these groupings are a testament to this season of the sun. First, let's take a look at what bold, contemporary styling of Raj:

"Floral Repeat" from the Raj Collection

"Purple Paisley" from the Raj Collection

Saturated colors simple line work is the cornerstone of Raj, making it an attractive choice for a vibrant quilting project, a novelty apparel endeavor (such as a skirt, festive blouse or seasonal summer scarf) or home decor applications. The traditional paisley pattern and a bold floral print are shown here, infused with funk and mod styling, are begging to become a part of your fabric collection!

"Multi Chevron" from the Ziggy collection
"Speckled Chevron" from the Ziggy collection
Everyone knows that the chevron pattern is HUGE right now, and for good reason! It's a timeless pattern that is simple, bold and attractive in nearly any color scheme you can imagine. Ziggy takes chevron and runs with it, dressing it in cracking summer colors and pairing it with spin-off prints that add a cohesion to the entire collection. We'd love to see this project worked into a beach quilt, bedding material or even a loud and lavish skirt or dress!

Beverly's online fabric store will be receiving shipments of Raj and Ziggy in August. Be on the lookout for exciting projects and patterns for both collections! To stay up to date on the latest fabric releases and featured fabrics, keep in touch on Facebook and Pinterest.

Listen! It's the Sweet Sound of Bird Song

"Repeating Stripe" from the Bird Song collection
Loved and celebrated for its elegance, refined charm and lustrous color palette, traditional Asian artwork is a huge influence on the modern textile industry. Subtle floral patterns, fine line work and the occasional addition of text form a complex, satisfying material.

The Bird Song collection, designed by Graphic 45 and licensed for exclusive use by independent quilt and quilt supply stores, combines cultural elements and a tapestry motif. The result is a cohesive collection of fabrics that is a true joy to touch and admire.

Bird Song has it all: panel prints, packed coordinates, floral accents and several bold repeating stripe patterns. Through each element of the collection, the look is consistent without becoming monotonous: everything is tied together by an underlying uniformity. However, each fabric featured in this collection can also be used on its own without worry. We believe that the mark of a truly successful collection is the ability to stand alongside complementary fabrics harmoniously, but also to stand alone without lacking in punch and personality.

"Repeating Stripe" from the Bird Song collection
Because Bird Song works beautifully together, it is the perfect grouping of textiles for a beautiful quilt project, either as an accent for the home or as a creative gift for a family or friend. The floral prints of the collection could serve as a decorative touch in the home or as the base for blouse, scarf or hair wrap. The diversity of Bird Song makes virtually any project you have in mind a glorious possibility!

"Joy Luck Floral" from the Bird Song collection

"Endless Spring Parasols" from the Bird Song collection

Beverly's online fabric store will be receiving first shipments of Bird Song in July--and we believe it will go fast! Please remember to follow us on Facebook and Pinterest to stay up to date on new arrivals, featured prints and projects.
