Stonehenge Revisited

Have you ever wanted to capture the magic of Stonehenge in a quilt? Well, now you can, thanks to the new line of Stonehenge fabric by Sunshine Cottage from Northcott, available here!

This collection of 100% cotton fabric, designed by Linda Ludovico, has the look of stone but the feel of silk. It to comes in a wonderful array of colors, with pallettes including Warm Stone, Cool Stone, Mother Earth and Mohave.

Donatella Simmonds, quilting expert in our Monterey store, created the beautiful table runner you see here using the Stonehenge Warm Stone pallette. The results are amazing, wouldn't you agree? I asked her how she liked working with the fabric.

"It was so nice to work with," Donatella told me. "It has a beautiful sheen and the high thread count made it a dream to sew. All the colors worked together so well."

Eclipse - New Free Quilt Pattern

Today's free quilt pattern is called "Eclipse" from Robert Kaufman Fabrics, and comes with two colorways options. One is a light and spring-inspired colorway with plenty of pinks, purples, and light greens. The other is darker, with a similar earth-tone feel but more jewel-tones for a rich, bold quilt.

New Free Quilt Pattern - Bali Kaliedoscope

Our free quilt patterns are so easy to understand and create; you'll want to spend all your time quilting. This week we're featuring a pattern from Hoffman Fabrics called "Bali Kaleidoscope". This intricate pattern is as fun to make as it is to look at! Once this quilt is finished, it measures 72" square, and each block is 12" square. Plus, these blocks are all made up of squares, so you won’t need any templates or have to fuss with tricky corners. Inspiration - Quilting!

We just had to share this amazing quilt that was made by Bonnie Chihara and Cliff Musselman from our Soquel store.
Valued at $500, this quilt will be auctioned at Watsonville Taiko's fundraiser Natsu Matsuri on Sunday, June 28, 12noon - 5pm at Kizuka Hall, 150 Blackburn Street, Watsonville, CA.
