Well, we're down to the week before Halloween. Have you started your costume yet?
You haven't?!?
Well, don't panic! There are plenty of great costumes that require little time and even less sewing. With some scissors, fabric glue and a little imagination, you'll be sure to win the costume contest at this weekend's Halloween party.
Have you tried making a tutu yet? With a narrow roll of tulle, some elastic and ribbon, you'll have a tutu in no time and it will look like you spent hours on your costume. Want to be ballerina princess? Add a tiara! A fairy? Add some pre-made wings!
For a mother-daughter look, how about peacock tutus?
Movies are always great inspiration. Glinda from the Wizard of Oz is easy. A store bought witch's hat, a simple black cape, and some green paint, and you can be the Wicked Witch of the West! If sci-fi is more your thing, how about a Na'avi from Avatar? Or maybe that famous wizard who battled You-Know-Who?
Some felt or fabric and fabric glue can make an easy playing card or bumble bee.
Altering a T-shirt is an easy way to create a costume as well. This bat and spider both use plain T-shirts as the base of the costume.
So, there you go. Last minute costumes that won't break your budget. Happy trick-or-treating!
